Demonis Festival

So recently, I had to fly to the Balearic Islands for a photoshoot and luckily I was also here for the Demon Festival known as 'San Sebastian'. San Sebastian is the patron saint of Palma de Mallorca who is celebrated for a couple weeks through out January. Plenty of family barbacues, concerts and festivals are held. But one part of this holiday that stands out from others is 'carrefoc' where demons rome the streets with fire, dancing with the public.

As a photographer, it is dangerous, intense and worth it! As the men dressed as demons run around with sparklers, spitting fire and scaring you, it is a test of focus and skill to take images of this unique festival. This gallery was probably one of the most intense things I have ever had to produce. I was mostly trying to practice silhouette work however there is a bit of portraiture work as well.

Only got one burn!
